Aberdaron

We recently had a family holiday in Aberdaron in
North Wales. This is a view of the beach, looking
towards Ynys Gwylan-fawr and Ynys Gwlan-bach.

Emmie and Alison on the beach
The view from the cottage which Sue, Andy, the
girls and Chase(the dog) stayed in
Abersoch beach
Windsurfing off Abersoch beach.
Now for a quick lesson in the Welsh language.Ynys is Welsh
for island, bach means little and fawr is large. Aber means at
the mouth of the river,so Aberdaron stands at the mouth
of the river Daron and Abersoch at the mouth of the river Soch

I want to walk the hills and dales of Wales in two years time. My grandmother came from there to Australia in 1919. You have some lovely photos in your collection.

Wonderful series of photos. What a nice place. I particularly enjoyed the photo with the shadows of the clothes on the line showing up on the hedge. Very nice.

Beautiful beach photos, but the laundry one has so much personality!

OKAY, I'm packing my bags. I could easily spend a couple of weeks there. Gorgeous.

That is sooooo pretty. You have captured things well, I'll bet the water at the beach was cold.
We were in Ireland this spring and last spring, and Scotland and Isle of Man in between. Things are pretty in general in the U.K. We may never make it to Wales.

Lovely collection, but the washing blowing in the wind really got me. Such a wonderful reminder of what sunny day is.

Hi Tom,
Thanks for your comment. Yes, we certainly did go by the old church and we saw the Celtic cross. It's beautiful, isn't it.I'm afraid I didn't take a photo of it but I have got it on my new toy! A camcorder, a gift from hubby, courtesy of E-Bay!
